Who are you and why should I trust you to care about my dog?
I have been knitting and sewing for around 50 years and understand how textiles work and how to get the best out of the materials. I have also been working with dogs for around 40 years – I have rescued – bred – trained – done obedience and agility work – so I have a fair idea of the dogs body shape and functions. I have also worked with disables dogs to create clothing that takes their disability into account and improve their daily lives.
Do you actually make all of your own products?
Yes I certainly do. I have a workshop in the flat – and a studio in the garden – and I am always beavering away designing and making.
What materials do you use?
I believe in the best product for the job in hand. I use a quality acrylic yarn (usually Robin or Splash) – because of it’s so easy to care for – washes well – hard wearing – and no allergy issues. My cotton fabrics are all 100% cotton – unlike the poly cottons – pure cotton does not pill up or loose it’s shape. You will find a full description of the materials used in each item listing.
If I want something specific made for my dog – can you do that?
I am always up for a challenge! Providing the materials like can do the job you want – you can have just about anything!
How do I commission something for my dog?
I have a whole page devoted to how you take measurements from your dog and what to think about – How to Commission a Special Size – you will need to do that. Then contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss your needs.
What do you charge for commission work?
I price my commission work on the same principal as all the other listings – by the back length / size of the jumper / coat – I don’t charge any extra just because I have made it in a special colour way for you.
Can I visit your workshop?
You can’t visit the workshop or studio – but you are welcome to drop into the retail shop in Kendal. You will find us in the heart of the town, down one of the alleys. We share space with The Kitten and The Goat, 9 New Shambles, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 4TS
What are your postage rates?
At the moment I charge £2 as a contribution towards the posting costs.
Are your dog treats ok?
Absolutely! I am fully registered – and have been checked over by Trading Standards. All the meat and veg comes in fresh and gets cooked that day or the next.
